With all due respect the only issue that I see regularly would be delays in fulfillment. Art theft, lying about AI, failure to fulfill should all be considered an epic breach of trust and it does not happen often in the card world. To generalize those things as common is inaccurate at best. Hoa and his team stand out to me because it is so uncommon to see those epic failures happen multiple times with the same creator. Instead of saying, "Oh well, it just comes with the territory," I find myself saying, "The did that AGAIN and still funded?!"Disenchanted_11 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 09, 2026 12:36 amLet's be fair, most of these are just general issues that happens with almost any creator out there.....

I italicized those what I "generalize" as common which include:
- lying (or omission, about details of delays, problems, and status of fulfillment)
- delays in shipment, and
- not fulfilling promises (mostly delivery dates, sometimes exact specs not being followed, like the printer fiasco recently)
Do you truly believe these are not common? You'll also see a number of backers which never receive replacements to lost/damaged packages, they're always in the comments. And we can chalk it down to "rewards are not guaranteed" at that point.
Sometimes, having a lot of salt doesn't help in better judgement.

Art theft certainly uncommon, AI lying less so, delivery less so - combination of all three repeatedly seems pretty rare though.
One can argue they were simply clumsy and over enthusiastic, but they would have to prove themselves to me, and that will take a long healthy track record and a mighty nifty deck…

New update on the holo campaign:
“Dear Backer,
We are genuinely sorry about the holographic effect of the card as we informed you before. We have re-tested it under various lighting conditions and viewing angles, and we are pleased to inform you that it is actually not as bad as previously reported. We hope you won't be too disappointed when you have it in your hands.”
“Not as bad…” lol. So according to the new pictures as long as I play outside on a sunny day, or have a blinding light directly behind me, I should be all set!

Re: Black Death by Hòa Phan
Well, I got my deck today, and wow - this is ... something. The tuck box quality is awful. The holo effect with the die cut layers on the front is actually nice, but a piece of it was broken out of the box, and some other points are bent oddly. The edges of the side flap are worn and ripped in places, and the cutout looks like it was done manually, and sloppy. Due to the flap design, it's very difficult to close it without catching the top card. There's barely any holo effect on the cards, front or back. If anything it looks like metallic ink with a very subtle sheen. The color is extremely muted/desaturated. Well, I backed this one when I first started collecting. You live you learn.
