Gio been putting in work consistently over the years. This one is one of my favorites of TWI, liking the courts the most.

Hmm, do you have family or friends in Dublin or Liverpool who would hold decks until you visit?

My deck finally arrived. Overall its a nice deck but I'm not a fan of the foiling on this one. That was a bit suprising because Gio's decks usually have nice foiling. Still happy to have it in my collection. Curious what others think so far.

What didn't you like about the foiling? It was a bit shiny on the courts, but it felt par for the course for cold foiling. They could've gone with a slightly duller sheen of gold.

My cards just arrived. Overall I love them. The embossing of the card stock is very heavy though. It allows them to handle well, but it interferes with the foiling, making the foiling look very textured at some angles. Similar to what would happen with many foiled Cartamundi decks.

Do you mean embossing Adam or the linen/cushion finish?

Love this deck! My only gripe is that the tuck box is too big for the clear plastic deck protectors.

A DS1L might do the trick. You can always ask Sherman to try and see if his deck fits in one first.

It's the same thing. The finish is added to the stock with an embossing roller.

No its not. Embossing is when you have a raised design - something we often see on tuck boxes

The opposite effect is debossing. But he's definitely referring to the texture imprinted into the cards to help with trapping air and improving handling. I didn't notice it being more prevalent than any other mass produced cold foil deck.

No its not. Embossing is when you have a raised design - something we often see on tuck boxes
"Another difference from USPCC playing cards is that Cartamundi's True Linen B9 finish uses a different embossing pattern than most other decks. Rather than having a series of small dimples like a typical air cushion style deck from USPCC, it has a series of vertical and horizontal lines. This also explains the name "True Linen", since it's the pattern you'll find in linen textiles, which are made from the fibres of flax plants. This embossing pattern gives the cards a different look than what most of us are used to when they catch the light, but functionally their performance appears to be no different from the usual air cushion embossing design. The important thing is that they are embossed, and this enhances the motion of the cards as they slide over each other in fans and spreads."

I stand corrected Adam - apologies. Embossing refers to both the dimple finish on cards and the raised surfaces on tuck boxes
