Can't remember seeing that here. Looks interesting though, if perhaps a bit too colorless.

It's the same guy that was behind the Stars & Spades deck - http://unitedcardists.com/viewtopic.php ... 10&p=54719

He has posted a few times elsewhere a preview link to his Kickstarter page for this project, but keeps disabling it as he makes changes. In doing so keeps breaking the links and needing new ones. While I haven't seen it, from comments it appears to be similar to his prior deck and may still be using the likeness of friends as courts. :? The back looks neat and good theme, but I still haven't seen enough to make a call myself. He did send out prototype decks last week, hopefully we'll see some early reviews and images prior to launch.

Not sure about this guy, marketing skills lacking. Hopefully design and project execution are better, but we'll see.

EDIT - Did find thread at PCF (maybe that's where I remembered it from) - http://www.playingcardforum.com/index.php?topic=7978

Interesting. I'd like to see a negative version of the back design though, blue with white lines a la blue prints. Figure that's why the color palette was chosen anyhow.

Whoa, add-on-palooza Batman!

Uncuts, AIP Bottles, Personalised Card clips, Notebooks, Pen/USB Drive combo's, USB drives? and Tee's. I think there are some decks too.... :-)

Yep, I noticed. Quite an array of toys, eh?

I agree. Almost too much in my opinion for the funding goal. $9500 has to be close to what he needs to print the decks. What if he barely makes that? Where will the money for all the fluff items come from if all he receives is enough to cover the printing of the decks and shipping. Just something we've seen over and over. I'd hate to see this get funded and then he has to do like so many others and do a separate campaign to raise more.

And I'm out. Sorry, all that crap translates to money grab / scam IMO. I apologize if I'm wrong but I won't be backing it. May pick some up afterwards if they do get printed, but count me out.

Architect by Jared Hansen & Penguin

Hi everyone!

A lot of you are familiar with Jared's Architect deck, either from his Kickstarter campaign or from being in Card Club.

I'm happy to say that the deck will finally hit public release this Thursday over at Penguin. They're printed by EPCC on Damask finish with a gorgeous blue paper tuck with silver foil.

Thanks!

Kevin

I got mine in card club a few days ago, very cool deck! Love the gaff cards :)

I got my decks via card club, as well. Instead of the custom courts shown in the project description above, these had the standard courts typically seen in EPCC decks, which is too bad. I like the custom courts that were originally intended for this deck.

As for gaff cards... there weren't any gaff cards in the Architect deck that I opened. There were in the other deck (Coney Island?), but not this one. Did I open a bad deck?

Card backs are really quite nice. Tuck is snazzy. Bummer about the courts.

Edit: As noted below, the other deck that was shipped to Card Club members is called "Steeplechase," not "Coney Island." I didn't have the decks handy when I typed this response. :)

I think Jufin might be thinking of Steeplechase - Architect doesn't have any gaffs.

We found that most we've spoken to for his deck didn't prefer the custom courts over a more standard design, but that will always be subjective and will never have a one-size-fits-all solution.

Yyyyyup. Can't please all of me. I mean, um, all of us.

LOL! Rouselle, I'm sure you're probably not the only person who liked the customized faces. We felt it was a better fit to go more traditional with them, but we can agree to disagree. Hopefully the tricked-out foil tuck makes up for it!

Architect just launched over at Penguin, you guys can check them out here:

Since I do magic and like to be able to use "stranger" cards from other decks, standard courts and faces work better for me. But I sure won't be buying many $10 decks for working cards. The discount in the card club makes these at least more useful.

VERY disappointed that apparently Penguin didn't bother to produce enough decks for anyone who doesn't want to pay for 4 decks! Got to produce enough for all customers!

Architects are in stock at Penguin. (but no Steeplechase decks)

Victor - I'm not sure what the complaint is?

Card Club members get them first, but we have plenty in stock for the general release and non-club members.

As I posted before, they are available here:

Please let me know if I'm missing something...

DelMagic - Steeplechase will be coming soon.

Well I apologize if I was wrong. I emailed Penguin on the weekend because I saw the Architect decks available and not the Steeplechase and I wanted to pick up one of each. I was told via email that the Steeplechase was sold out. Either way I see no reason to not release them at the same time so that people can get them shipped together. Seems somebody is misinformed over there or misunderstood my email somehow.

Yeah I don't know why not release both at the same time so that people can get them shipped together.
