The theme and color scheme reminds me of the Flight Deck.

The courts if you haven't seen them look like chunky versions of the standard courts, similar to the hive decks without the refined quirkiness, not my thing to be honest.

And.. PALM TREES AGAIN ?!

I loved the Hive courts but these courts are just ugly to me.

I just noticed there is a black version, i'm guessing a "limited" edition.

Of course...how else will they get people to buy those in bricks?

More than a brick, spend $150 to get the black, that's almost 2 bricks, I checked. Pass on that deck I guess.

Yep, you gotta spend $150 to get one in 500!!. Get spending guys :-)

Sorry, but there's nothing in this fictitious airline malarkey that's going to get me to spend heavily to get some artificially rare EPCC decks. There are MANY average KS decks that I'd put ahead of this. I miss the day when I looked forward to BC releases.

(My apologies if I'm started to sound like a cranky old collector. :( )

Small indices with no suit indicator. Bad combination.

Wow. It took a while to dig up the original skit...https://vimeo.com/91715361 Seems like everyone and their mother decided to jump on the cowbell train...

Not cranky at all. Just checked my account - turns out I haven't bought anything from TBC this year. (EPCC doesn't help - wasn't EPCC supposed to result in decks being less expensive?)
KS has raised the bar, and I'm just not feeling the originality here. Very disappointing year. Hopefully next year will be better (with less palm trees).

This would be my 3rd Blue Crown purchase this year I believe. I really like the blue deck, looks more "retro" or maybe since the deck name has sky in it.

Exactly, EPCC were meant to be providing (If I remember the sales pitch that we heard from many here) USPCC quality decks, cheaper than USPCC whilst avoiding the long print queues that USPCC have/had.

From my POV, we can judge them;
  1. Quality - The only arguable point here. Many can't tell any significant difference. There is a difference, and someone who I'd trust much more in judging handling - Sinjin7 - has mentioned it. The problem is both the standard (USPCC) and the EPCC decks vary and are improving over time.
  2. Price. There doesn't appear to be any appreciable difference in pricing - for every 'cheap' EPCC deck, one can easily find USPCC decks of comparable features and pricing. The existence of the 'ultra rare' 1,000 deck (and now 500 deck) runs isn't helping any collectors wallets.
  3. Timeliness. It appears that since EPCC have been on the scene that USPCC's printing delays have significantly improved - whether that is because many projects are now printing with EPCC is hard to determine. However there are instances where EPCC have been significantly slower. Just ask Jody Eklund - I have my USPCC 'Golden Spike' decks.... when are the EPCC decks coming in? Around Christmas?
There does seem to be a lack of spark in these designs - nothing to make me want to buy at least. I think Ellusionist has shown they now understnad what collectors want in the Prohibition set, just wondering when BC and others get the memo (if they're interested).

Agreed on all points. Some further thoughts on the Price issue: I think the reason EPCC decks are generally NOT cheaper is because of their lower print run options, which is the main reason for people to choose it over USPCC. Lower print run means higher price, regardless of the printer. If someone like E switched to EPCC (won't happen, of course) and ordered 10k runs, THEN I would expect to see a significant difference in the price.

I think that the continual choice of lower and lower print runs are also contributing to inflating deck prices in general, which I would say is bad for collectors no matter our motivation to collect (not counting pure resellers, the amount of which might also increase as a result of this). Personally I couldn't care less how many others have the same deck as me, but if Jackson's fanbase has taught us anything it's that there are quite a few people out there who don't think this way.

On the above picture, the pips look sky blue. Having the actual cards, the pips look close to purple. :? Besides that, nice deck.

This is not an auction or else it could have gone in the thread: ebay auctions posted by people on crack
Originally they were $7.95 at Penguin

https://eclipsegames.com.au/search?q=sk ... ix%5D=last

Most of their prices are crazy

They are Australian dollars so $199 would be about $136US

Those are not definitely worth that high resale price. I have a blue one but don't if I still have it or not. I definitely will not sell it that high.

The Svngali Sky Island are the best ones anyways. USPCC printed instead of EPCC 👌🏿.
