I'll definitely keep an eye on this but my wallet only opens for Lotrek if it's a tuck swap. I'll look up other auctions when I'm home, but this is the highest I've seen, in peak card collecting fashion.

Something to note about Worthpoint is it doesn't tell you if a best offer was accepted so some of these values might be higher than the actual sale price.

Sep 13, 2021 - #68/74 -$3,500 Notice how this same deck then went on auction for $2,305 on Feb 20, 2022 on SoCal, posted above. My guess is either the auction winner never paid on eBay (but then I don't think it gets on WP) or the buyer had remorse/financial struggles and put it back up for auction, or market manipulation - unless someone has other guesses?

Huh, lower than expected, right before xmas probably isn't the best time for high value auctions.

I wouldn’t say lower than expected in this case - probably a pretty small handful of people willing to go into the stratosphere for that deck

Knowing one of the final bidders, I'd say if another one of these popped up soon, I don't think it would reach $1500. Still might get to around ~$1300, however. There's only a small subset of people who can pay that much.

So, in 2023, Blue Damask and S17 Crown were the two most expensive public auctions from the modern day card era. Meanwhile, ICONS Reverse was the most expensive private sale that I know of.

I’d seen it had a reserve earlier without bidding, I no longer do. I’m guessing the reserve has been met.

Why not? If you know you are willing to pay at least "x" amount, get it in there so you don't sleep on it. Waiting until the end accomplishes what exactly?

I think Strag has a point. At these level of dollars, this is less of a snipe event and more of put your amount out there. I would not be surprised if this hits around $1,500 again. Even so, $1k is not chicken change. Since this one is #1, this one is cool. It might go for even more. Not many out there.
