Thanks for posting this project, Roope. I love the artwork and I am a sucker for the theme (I am anxiously awaiting Helheim and Midgard....and Ragnarok).

If I had to nitpick, I would say I would prefer the blue to be closer to dark navy and the red would look better as a dark maroon color. I like the tuck box a lot (especially if they emboss), but I think they need to remove some repeating text. "Varg Clans Illustrated Playing Cards" should only be on the front of the tuck. I don't think it should be on the sides, and definitely not on the tuck flap. It looks awkward to have part of the word "illustrated" peaking through from the tuck flap.

Honestly, those are minor issues and I think this will do well on KS. Good luck to the creator!

These remind me of the art from some of the Dnd campaign books. I like them

Has anyone info on them? Kind of a bummer that he doesn't trust his design enough for raising founds for a USPC print. $15 is a bit too high for my liking when it comes to a three coloured deck with a (for me) unknown printer.

Only negetive point besides the price for me is that the back design should either be completly bordered or borderless. This semi-bordered is kind of meh, but not too bad. The rest of the deck is pretty solid, imo.

Might be MPC - I received a Kickstarter delivery a while ago from QP Printing Ltd (per the tracking), which arrived with MPC labelling on the box.

Edit: MPC’s ‘about us’ page also states it’s owned by the QP Group

Humm... Love the artwork, and would be more than happy to $15 for these if they were to be printed by Cartamundi / USPCC... But for an MPC deck I'll have to pass.

I like the artwork of the courts and usually don't care too much about the printer. $20 delivered is just too much for what this is. Can a brother at least get some tuck embossing for that much? Guess not.

I think this brings up an interesting question about using MPC as a printer for first time deck creators. On the one hand, more renown designers can do higher quality cards as they have their reputation to back them as well as a history of solid designs. If a first time creator chooses to charge $20 for a good design but less quality printing, does that reflect a lack of experience, lack of reputation, or something else? I think its a good way to test how people receive the deck based on the art.

2nd decks are another story....

For me this deck wasn't about the printer. It rarely ever is for me. The courts are nice but everything else was lacking. That much money for a standard glossy tuck isn't going to cut the mustard.

I actually really like this deck. It has a very fantasy/DnD feel to it. Part of it is the stock and finish, it isnt that great, it fans, but is nothing special. That low quality finish actually adds to the feel. This is exactly a deck I would expect to see at a rogues table in a tavern.
