Patrick Valenza`s TRANSFORMATION Royal Mischief in 2018

Fans of strange macabre, especially the existing
Patrick Valenza`s Royal Mischief deck, or any transformation fan really, will be glad to see this. Too bad it's USGS published, but I am just glad it's actually becoming a full deck. For those not aware a few cards of the deck were created and given away with purchase of the Royal Mischief deck, but a full transformation deck in this style does not yet exist.
***The fully completed "Royal Mischief TRANSFORMATION Playing Card Deck" will be published by U.S. Games Systems..(now probably Oct 2018 instead of mid-end 2017

) Finishing up the last few cards before handing the artwork over to the incredibly talented Paula Palmer, Art Director.

Which company is USGS? A Google search shows me mostly US Geological Survey.

Hello fellow Fools,
Just an update on the soon to be released Royal Mischief Transformation Playing Cards by Valenza, (and a few other things!)
Artwork is being turned in to US Games Systems, and the deck "should" be available in about 6 months from now.
Our self-published standard pip version is long out of print, as it was a very limited edition deck. However, we do have 3 uncut sheets available.
In the meantime, we have been creating a few OOAK secondary use cards---5 card collections featuring Original Ink doodles/messages on back.
Our summer card gallery can be viewed at
http://www.deviantmoon.com
Everlastingly yours,
Deviant Moon

Why US Games and why so long? Seems like 6 months is really long to get a deck printed.

Dropkick !
This deck goes where it wants to.
This deck can please itself in its direction.
This deck is freephase art and color.
Constrained by no-one.
Least of all .... by someone who is so consistently .... inadvertant.

Bruno, Victor asked a legitimate question in a polite manner. There is absolutely no reason to condescend or make a personal comment. This one is all on you.

Do tell me what that question meant ?
For vic to ask deviant moon that, 2 days back ?
It assumes that victor has a credibility that he obviously has not.
Moonboy was here earlier, and deigned to give it the silent treatment.
Condescend ?
As a matter of course .... all my posts are down to me.
Who else abrogates their credibility to give vic the response he warrants ?
Eh ?
What meaning do you give to the query ?
He simply cannot credit other peoples choices and options ?
What ?

The artwork is really nice, but the cards are unplayable for card games.

Bruno. My interpretation is that Victor was asking why the creator was printing with US Games and not another printer like USPCC, EPCC, Noir Arts, etc. I had the same question myself since we do not see many people printing cards with US Games. I also thought that six months was a long time for printing since the artwork "is" being turned into US Games. I interpret "is" to mean "right now" not weeks or months from now. In addition, the creator said it "should" be done in six months which means that it could be done earlier than six months but often means later than six months. Is that because US Games has a lot of projects in the queue? Are they just slow? Are they subcontracting card jobs out to another company? Are they having trouble getting materials? And why is the creator pushing the project now when it potentially won't be ready for half a year? The answer to these questions could potentially affect one's confidence in the project and are certainly things I would like to know before being involved. I'm betting others who are interested in the project had the same questions.
I do not wish to further derail this thread so this is all I have to say on the matter in public. If you wish to pursue this further, please contact via PM.

What is it, this project of which you speak ?
There is no project.
If you proposed to project, would you step up to the plate with -
"Hello fellow Fools" .... ?
Man's funding hisself.
Man can do anything he wishes.
He wishes to pay a curtesy call.
Good on him.

Bruno, I'm quite certain that you've never heard of this wonderful thing called a
dictionary so allow me to define the word PROJECT for you:
a specific plan or design; a planned undertaking. Which is exactly what's going on here. And everyone else's comments here add insight and value EXCEPT YOURS.
STOP HIJACKING THREADS WITH YOUR CHILDISH NONSENSE!

I've been pretty quiet about your posts, and we all know i have no love for Victor... that being said, enough is enough.
Victor was not out of line. Not even a little bit.
Your constant nonsense posts attacking Victor are annoying, so please stop.
Multiple moderators are now calling for you to be permanently banned, and at this point I would agree.
Consider this your absolute final warning.
Zero tolerance from this point on.

Royal Mischief is among my favorite decks and I am so freaking happy to see a new transformation style deck. Why there aren't any more besides the Pipmen decks and Emmanuel Jose's decks is beyond me.
I hope to see a lot more decks in the future from Patrick.

I love his Royal Mischief too. Looking forward to his transformation deck. I wish he'd do more standard 52+ decks vs. so many Tarot decks but he knows his audience.

I've been endlessly waiting for this deck and hoping this annoyingly cryptic message posted on Facebook "2018-Next deck release date: Feb 1st. Join the Asylum mailing list for secret info at
http://www.deviantmooninc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"
As a comment to the posting back in Jan 2017 he said of the deck - "The deck will be finished in less than a week, and then handed over to US Games. It will most likely be available in apox. 9 months or so. We will have decks and uncut shhets available, as well as the original artwork. You can keep track of it at
http://www.deviantmooninc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on our mailing list."
And of course there is an uncut...Have to demote yet another one of mine.
EDIT - I noticed the date stamps of those comments suggest it won't be ready until Oct of this year, ugh. Talk about a delay if true.

And reading between the lines it looks like the new secret deck in Feb is another Tarot variation deck and this transformation one probably will be around Oct 2018. So disappointing. At least we know there should be uncut of it?

Patrick Valenza of Deviant Moon has stated he is "about" 4 months or so away from releasing the latest Royal Mischief deck, which is a transformation deck. The photo and info below are taken from the Playing Card Collectors Club FB group page. And he has plans to consider gilding it. I really love transformation decks and I like the classic/vintage design look of the deck so far. Only 1 photo released so far.

Hello Fellow Collectors!
Input needed....According to my publisher, The Royal Mischief Transformation Playing Cards will be available in "about" 4 more months.
A question came up about gilded edging.
Black or Gold?....or none!
What do you think?
Thanks so much!

LOVE the design, not much so the printer (which I'm assuming will be U.S. Games Systems, as their other decks).
Anyway, I've got a beautiful Deviant Moon Tarot deck and I love it, so I'm guessing I'll be in for this one, too, if the price is right for me.
And black glilding would be awesome!

It has been more than 1 year since the last thread?

No wonder I missed the 1st one. Thanks for the headsup. Well he's funding it himself so I suppose I should be glad it's even coming out. Hope it won't take another year to finally hit the stores!

Plus, there was even a thread from Nov
2016 that I posted. I've been waiting a REALLY long time for this deck...
Sadly it was also confirmed this will be US Game Systems again. Good news is there will be an uncut version which is a MUST.
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9310
MODS - can we get these 3 threads merged?
