Thanks for the info. I did the same thing and did not realize it.

Guilty as charged as well. I just tried to add to my order in the member page, but no charge was made. I messaged, but no reply so I was getting a bit worried. UC folks of course come to the rescue and I have my invoice and charge on the 15th, so I should be good to go.

I’m wondering how the LTD and gilded tuck cases will look. I presume these will be gilded In gold. That would be lovely 🤤

Started a 2020 Short subscription to be sure I'd get this and rest of the years great looking decks.

Not a fan of the interior art. Will be interested in how they handle since it's PRC deck. (Video on bottom of tuck.)
Move on, nothing to see here.

DOTY candidate for me, if the courts are "Tournament of the Mythic Kingdoms" style.

i love how the tuck looks, back of the card, the gold window on the front, not feeling that much for the courts.

Someone on Instagram confirmed that the gilded deck will get an additional “book cover”. I caved and got a second deck to open 😓

I remembered asking Jackson and he said all his recent EPCC decks are from PRC. This includes VHS, Equinox/Solstice series, red Invocation etc. I actually quite like this stock. Snappy and handles pretty well. This is foiled both sides and seems thicker though (based on the thickness of the tuck case from the video). I do hope it’s still thinner than the Legal Tender deck, and closer to the VHS.

I actually quite like the court cards. One nice touch would have been to label the courts (like the Sherlock decks), or include an ad card on who’s who.

The stock and feel will be exactly like most recent Legal Tender. It's all personal choice, but this is by far my favorite stock for both feel, stiffness, and most of all print quality. Not a fan of having to break them in, in the beginning, but we are tweaking the finishing process to help the cards be more "Out of the box ready" as this stock handles well after it's broken in.

Edited: It also should be noted VHS and the New Legal Tender are the exact same stock, and finish.

Well...

The LTD tuck is going to be even more awesome than the Standard, and the Gilded BOX even more awesome than that! :) We are doing both Gold and Kelly Green gilding editions as that is the historic Robin Hood color from the stories.

So, I assume since there are going to be two gilded editions, one is the subscription gilded edition. Then there will be another special release gilded edition?

As a side note if you haven't already picked up on it. Your "textured" decks seem to be getting special interest. I personally like them. Honestly, I don't think I see that style much at all in playing card designs. Anyway, great job on the Robin Hood deck. It is going to be a classic.

Slightly off topic, but I grabbed a standard sub Friday night and tried to access the members area this morning, but it said I did not have permission to access. Is there a waiting period before I can access the members area? I imagine there was a big influx of subs this weekend. Who'd be the best email contact at KW?

Just use their contact option on their website. It will probably be Aimee, but it will probably get answered by the first available crew member who can help. I do think it takes a couple of days for them to get you set up typically, but I don't know for sure.

They have to add you to the members group manually. It's not an automatic system. I imagine they may not do it on the weekend either.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

Received my RH standards yesterday. The good: foil looks great overall and very tastefully complements the outstanding design. The not so good: the EPCC cards were super clumpy and sticky and thick. I felt like they had melted together and I was peeling each card apart from the next. Also, there are gold foil specks all over the cards. In most cases it wouldn't bother me, but in a few cases they obscure the pips and other elements. If they were black ink specks, they'd never pass quality control. The picture shows a bad example on the 5H. For a $15 deck, I'm not as disappointed as I was with the Arabesques doing a similar thing, but given how excited I was for this deck, I'm disappointed nonetheless. I was originally thinking I'd keep my sub so I'd have a chance to buy a second copy later, now I'm not so sure.

Thanks for the suggestion, "Jackson," I'll do that. I'm curious to know if my deck copy was the exception, because man they are gorgeous cards otherwise.

For sure, that's why I offered it.

The process that we are doing is something that nobody has really done yet so we are still tweaking parts of the foiling/printing process to get everything right. The cards are a little clumpy in the beginning but once they are broken in they handle great and fan great. There are so many more variables with these decks that can go awry that a regular CMYK paper deck. These have paper, mylar, ink, and finish all wrapped into one. They are for sure not like USPCC cards right out of the box, but as we all know it's up to the person holding it what they like best. We are working on getting the "out of the box feel" a little smoother with each new deck, but as for the card stock, it is by far my favorite, (for my own tastes :) There is nothing else that compares to the print quality, hand feel, and also weight in my book. I really like the thickness and also the weight and stiffness.

This deck, Legal Tender, and the Upcoming Arthurian are IMO the best examples of the capabilities of foil and ink anywhere out there. But obviously I'm a little biased but I have seen a lot of decks.

These comments remind me of Lotrek's challenges with foil on Arabesque, where he had a similar problem with the foil dislodging and going elsewhere. For him it was evidently due to the lacquer process. I also remember one time with another deck he had the sheets stacked too quickly after the lacquer coating was applied and they all stuck together. Innovation has its substantial costs initially, but the innovative results are worth it (I think).

I'll have to wait for my gilded decks. The wait is killing me. Maybe I should order some more decks while I wait....

I think I would have a difficult time finding a current deck (for $15USD) that would be a challenge to your opinion. Bias or not, it's sound.
TL:DR It's completely up to you.

Yep, those are exactly the factors we are learning, drying time for the sheets before cutting and stacking.

This month's art print is the diptych of the dual between Little John and Robin Hood. I was looking forward to this print, so jumped on it and picked up an 8x10 version. It just arrived and I can say that the paper and ink quality is really excellent. There are many still available, so no rush sellout. However, if any of you like the Robin Hood deck and like this scene, I don't think you will be disappointed with this print.

Thanks Brad. I’ve been toying with the 18x24. Makes a good sized artwork which I can frame and put up. Still mulling over it...

Have there been any details on what the gilded edition looks like? After seeing the incredible standard tuck, then the improvement to what I thought was already perfect in the limited, I am worried the gilded will be underwhelming.

I saw the image briefly when jackson turned his camera to his screen during one of his Instagram lives. It looked amazing.

My enthusiasm for this deck went WAY down after reading this. Look, I get it, it's a beautiful deck. Apparently the Chinese printer is the only one Jackson can find that can achieve the level of print quality he wants. But let's be real here: no amount of breaking in will ever get this deck to handle anything close to USPCC or Carta Mundi. It didn't happen with either Legal Tender versions, and it appears it won't happen with Robin Hood. A fundamental principle and standard that I use is that a deck shouldn't have to have require any significant amount of breaking in to handle well. A little bit of manipulation to get a deck tuned to your personal preference is fine, but when a vigorous and extended breaking in period still doesn't bring a deck close to USPCC/CM, that just means the finish is crap. There's no sugar coating this, it is what it is.

I understand that most collectors here (and maybe even Jackson himself) don't give a rat's ass about what I just wrote above. They're only about the art, which trumps all. Most of you here won't buy a deck with shit design, but excellent handling. I personally won't buy a deck (especially if they're a expensive as I suspect the Robin Hood deck to be) with excellent design, but shitty handling. Sadly, often times you have no idea the finish is utter crap until after you bought the deck and cracked it open. I appreciate that at least Jackson gave us notice ahead of time that the finish and handling will be as bad on Robin Hood as it was/is on Legal Tender coming out from the same Chinese printer. Honestly, I only have room (and budget) for decks that can check both boxes of art and handling. Man, I went from a "Hell yes!" to a hard pass on the Robin Hood deck. Having said that, I know Jackson's not going to have any trouble selling an ass load of these decks due to the excellent design. I'm sure Jackson spent a ton of time and effort into the design, it's a shame he wasn't able to complete it with a printer that could produce a high quality finish to truly make this an all-around complete deck. At the end of the day, I don't need a deck that handles "well" only after extensive breaking in, I'm looking for decks with excellence in handling equal with it's excellence in design.

Yep, I don't really give a rat's ass because I don't really "handle" those decks. When it comes to playing or just training with cards I usually go for standard decks for their readability/familiarity and good price/destruction ratio. Collector decks are mostly sitting on a shelf and from time to time they're being admired during "whiskey moments". I would definitely play a game with Scarlett Bicycles (TBR tomorrow) though! But yeah, I get your sentiment. I even know tuckists who care passionately about card stock and handling. :D

I competed this project to 100% of my satisfaction and in no way am ashamed of this deck, it's art, it's handling, its finish, it's Chinese printer, the smell it has when you open the box, the thickness of the paper. I'm gonna print a metric butt load of these cards. We are gonna keep working on getting every aspect, including the handleing to the best level we can with every reprint. You should also know that they are not even that expensive. Subscribers grabbed them for $12 bucks.

So, I shouldn't have ordered 100 standard decks so I can sell them on eBay for $199? Darn...I feel a fires sale coming on...

Seriously, I did pick up 7 of the standard decks. I figure for $12, that was a no-brainer and get combined shipping. I may not get rich on them, but I will sure enjoy them. Now if I can get Jackson to sign them...then the sky is the limit. $199 each for sure

Got my Limited copy today (have 3 gilded coming at some point) overall I like the deck for the look and the theme. I agree the handling is meh same feel as the holo legal tender. For me I will just be checking the printer from now on before I plunge for multiple of a deck. Overall I like it but for me it doesn't reach "god" tier due to the printer
