i get it, it is their website/social media and they certainly can control it how they see fit. as they should be able to. no arguments there. however, i view it as a shady practice which i will not support monetarily.
i imagine if Lotrek were able to come in here and remove all comments about his late shipping and fulfilling practices, his Oath Patreon thread is 23 pages of looking for tracking and complaints that the yearly rewards are 2 years late, not only would nearly the entirety of the thread be gone but i imagine it would be seen as shady and he would quickly receive less support. there have been a plethora of times when a creator has received praise for being transparent on an issue even if it were hard to admit or own up to, just this morning i read a post that was made about a KS creator that had to come out and explain why his campaign dropped 6k in funding because he removed a bunch of fake pledges made by a less than scrupulous employee. a few here said that they were backing the campaign just because of that. i see it only fit to call out and not support creators/companies that engage in the opposite.

Doing it here is one thing, doing it on their site is another, but I would agree that I appreciate a site that gives the full story (at least all reviews) and certainly most stores out there do just that now if they show reviews at all.
Doing the highlights reel of best reviews is very 2000’s and was fine before people could support the ability to provide verified reviews easily
But while it doesn’t impress me that they choose to go that way it doesn’t send me away - just a point with me they failed to score.

It's rather amusing, I mod a few social places for my company. If I allowed "free speech" (i.e. anything goes) it would be pretty ridiculous the comments that would stand and needless to say those spaces would soon become basically unusuable for anyone. I don't see it as shady, I see it as necessary... society needs rules in order to function properly, especially on the internet where sock puppets and troll accounts proliferate.
These days it's quite unusual for a site to allow "reviews" (and those quites around "reviews" are HUGE indeed!) because quite frankly most people give them zero credibility.
Third party spaces exist for people to state their opinions, toxic and others. Indeed, this very site allows quite a bit to get through and that has value to us as a community.
