Hey all, a mini update on this one for you guys...
Every item is currently in hand except for the decks themselves. After receiving the hard proofs last month I didn't feel like the tuck boxes matched what we were originally going for. Luckily all of the needed changes had to do with foils and paper stock. Those changes shouldn't create a significant delay, though I did not account for Legends being closed the entire month of January for Chinese New Year. I did send a few mini decks out for photos and to a handful of long time Patrons, which is why you may be seeing some pop up here and there.
With the paper/foil changes and the New Year delay I'll likely end up launching the next campaign (C.A.R.D.S.) a little before fulfillment of this one. Not something I particularly like doing, however, ultimately I'd like to stick to the strict release schedule I've planned out for the year. After the C.A.R.D.S. campaign I'm planning on doing a quick "bare-bones" campaign for the Nightdreams & Daymares Technicolor Edition.

While I can't guarantee which you will get, if there was a version you didn't originally pledge for I will try my best to include that one to complete your set.
There is no action required on your end to receive your free deck. It will be automatically included with your pledge. I hope this at least does a little to rectify things and put your minds at ease.

Incredibly disappointing from a UC member to ghost backers like this. Once again bitten, that's it done with Kickstarter even for established producers. Just a joke at this point. Just no excuse to go dark.

I'm still pretty confident that both projects will eventually ship. But project creators need to learn to stop ghosting when they don't have any new/good news. Delays and other shit happen, we all get that ( well, the great majority get that). But a couple sentences every month isn't difficult and is the minimum backers ask for. It goes a long way towards establishing and maintaining trust and growing a brand.

I also messaged him on Instagram. Didn't even read it. Really sucks to see from an established creator. The list of Kickstarter creators I can back gets smaller and smaller

Trust is the strongest currency. A shame that some creators/businesses don't get that.

I call it omnidirectional-optimism - its like optimism but less useful in practice.
It falls somewhere between “might as well” and “couldn’t hurt” - a lazier form of hope and faith.
It does slowly decay into sarcasm and disappointment over time, depending on the temperature of the room its kept in…

I would give it a few weeks before getting concerned - he popped up but I think he needs a deep breath and to figure out how much to say

Well, I empathize because this isn't the first time this has happened to long-time collectors, where an established and familiar name disappears and the emotional turmoil that results.

Everyone has the right to approach anything how they see fit, especially where an amount of money is involved. But swearing off all Kickstarters is a pretty strong reaction, especially when it could result in either increasing cost to acquire decks or just not being able to get them at all. I think the last of those would be the one that drove me the most nuts.
And yes Ive certainly had KS campaigns Ive funded go south.

This was more the straw that broken the Camel's back for me. Of course it's not just this one, but the list of Kickstarters I have backed that didn't deliver and/or ghosted backers is just far too long. I haven't added up the money it's cost me and I don't want to, but it's definitely mid 4-figs (that is, around $5K). So yeah, I don't think swearing off all Kickstarters is a bridge too far.
In terms of increasing costs to acquire decks, it can actually often be the opposite where I am able to acquire decks in the aftermarket for less, and with little to no risk.
Overall I am rethinking my approach to collecting and as a few people on here know, I've actually started to sell off parts of my collection, albeit very slowly.
