portcullis wrote:Yeah unfortunately mine was the generic GW email. Which is kinda odd given Monolith email (I just realised) WAS from ShipStation.
The only other deck I can think is due is Playing Arts coz I just checked and the “half brick” (2 campaigns) I’m expecting from Nicolai is still at least a couple of months away and Lotrek is HOPEFULLY fulfilling next weekend.
I, too, got a generic GW mail, a ShipStation mail for Monolith and hoping for "fast" Lotrek fullfilment.

I dunno. All I do know is I paid for Conquerors via Patreon in May. I’ll hit you up with the receipt in a couple of weeks if there’s a no-show Gio. (but he’s a good egg, I’m sure there won’t be a problem if this tracking isn’t Conquerors)

Got my Conquerors today. Gio, the Victoria tuck box is stunning! The foiling and embossing - I think every side (front/back/top/bottom/sides) has foiling and embossing - is incredible. Great job! I'm so glad I signed up for Patreon to get these.

Mine came in today too!

The Victoria tuck case is especially nice, the red foil really pops and the matte paper stock used is sort of pearlescent - and the gold on the card backs is a very good-looking shade of gold
Overall I'm quite pleased

Gio's Patreon continues to be a great deal

My delivery is still on a wing, but I've seen photos from a more ... geographically convenient friend of mine.
I know Gio's come in for a lot of flak recently, but the quality of the last 4 or 5 decks has been outstanding.

"Flak" means criticism - have I missed something? Everyone loves Gio and his art...! The (lack of) embossing on some tucks?

Ok so Gtranslate did ok - I was puzzled because I didn't saw criticism (that I am aware of, at least).
Did I do something wrong?

I'm not sure on portcullis means... Who exactly has critized Gio, especially lately with Monolith coming out. I mean there was like a one person who didn't like that Gio did everything "in a same style" but that was a few years ago and I think it was just a one guy who is not even active anymore.

No I remember the thread, there were many many people who while still liked what he was producing, yearned for something a bit different style-wise and theme-wise. It was less 'I don't like what you're doing' and more 'give me more but change it up'. Gio was already planning some interesting things but I'm sure it helped him to confidently try these new styles and themes he's wonderfully been developing through Betrayers and beyond by knowing that it's something his fans wanted him to do. I've recently had a close look through all of his decks I have and have really come to appreciate the differences even among his most similar series, but if the success of The Order is anything to go by, these new directions are working really well!

I was half asleep writing my last, apologies. Thanks Adonael for clarifying.
I'll admit to being one of Gio's serial backers who was asking for change, but not as vociferously as others. I think most of the community here meant the criticism constructively. I'm really pleased Gio's taken it on board. The releases since (and including) Odissea have been fantastic.

That thread was early 2018, about Odissea .... Not too "recent" I'd say

Glad you love the recent releases

Fourteen months is practically on schedule for Lotrek but to Gio it's ancient history
Count me among the collectors who were getting a bit fatigued by Gio's returns to the same well, so to speak, with his style and themes. Conquerors could easily have met the same pitfall, and I was surprised to see how stylistically different it felt from Omnia once I had it in hand. Many of the motifs are the same, but increasing the line weight and paring back the details gives it a sharper, more polished vibe. Happy to have this one in my collection.
