Better to regret something you did than something you didn't do, I guess.
My life provides examples where that holds true, as well as some where that is debatable, but in this case it is unlikely that anyone that buys one (from lorenzo direct) will find themselves in the condition of being stuck without a buyer to break even with.

The two people selling a copy on eBay are from McKinney, Texas and Silver Lake, Indiana. Members in our group?! I don't count the seller from Georgia who sold a copy for $150, because that is a decent price.

I’m the person from Silver Lake! I had 2 Ace patrons last year, which was great for the extra decks to open, but I don’t need 3 extra books. I really don’t know how much the book is worth, so I started the bid at $.99 and decided to let the market decide. I definitely won’t complain though if the book sells for more than a decent price. Unfortunately I’ve had to cancel my Patron for S17 this year and am selling off a lot of my duplicate decks because my financial situation isn’t as good as it used to be. I’m also more discerning now and don’t buy 4 copies of every deck I somewhat like, which is probably what helped get me in a worse financial situation!

Most decks I sell wouldn’t get back what I paid for them, so if some items oversell that’s great for me to help balance things out!

I appreciate your honesty. I sell on eBay myself, so understand you wanting to get back some money, after spending so much on these books and the Ace Patreon fees. I only hope I can secure a copy from Stockholm 17 when Lorenzo returns. Crossing fingers!!

The books went live this morning and the deluxe hardcover sold out in 1 hour. Only around 80 copies available. I was ready to order one when in stock, but I settled on the softcover version because it's half the price of the deluxe edition. Yeah...the metal ingot, gilded pages and the signed/numbered labeling are very cool extras on the deluxe, but at the end of the day, I really only want the book for the inside content. Need to cut back somewhere...and I collect a lot of different things.

Understandable, I suffered my first lack of translating timezones properly and missed the black17 deck I intended to pick up as well, but I did get the hard cover...yeah that price stings but its a cool book it looks like.

I wanted a dupe but I had just returned from my travels last night so I was sound asleep until an hour and a half into the sale. I didn't regret my sleep lol.

Picked up a softcover so I can keep my hardcover pristine, along with a couple Sir Octo edge prints.

I was crazy busy at work and didn't even get a chance to look until in the evening. I might have considered getting another hardback, but they were long gone. I was happy with a softbound to dogear and also picked up a Sir Octo edge print to go with my two from my Ace package. The patreon discount was nice.

You will have to explain the Tim Ferriss reference for me Bikefanatic
I don't know him so googled - a NY Times bestseller but not my genre.
I am thinking the reference is to them being long?
(just Thank this post if that is the answer)
Tim's books are like the same amount of pages and thickness of this Stockholm17 Anthology. People are intimidated by big books but I enjoy the different topics he covers.
To me any physical media beats a pdf / digital version. Im a behind the scenes/documentary type person so this book is a must have. I have about 70% of the decks. So gorgeous to look through and hold.

Did anyone who ordered the book get an email about a delay? I thought it would have shipped or be processed on Tuesday.

He just posted on Patreon that GW has had a delay in shipping them out and they are just starting today.

I love GW as a company and the many things they have done for our mutual hobby, but I gotta say... it seems like when they communicate with their corporate customers (as opposed to us lowly consumers), they seem to be frequently guilty of giving a best-case scenario as the plan, rather than the more-realistic-scenario as the plan.
I've long since learned to take any proclamation that "the decks will go out on Thursday" as a stretch goal rather than as a statement of fact, so I'm not in any way bothered by this delay. But, I guess next time I'm running a business, I'm going to have to keep this in mind as an object lesson: label best-case scenarios accordingly, and offer other scenarios, as well, so as to avoid disappointing the customers.
PS: I have received an e-mail with my tracking number *today*, so there's that.

For those of you thinking about getting the hard cover, you might as well since it'll be a deck to compliment it.
I'm also glad it'll be the A design chosen to be the backs of the deck from the 2 designs chosen. I rather tolerate having a one-way back than one-way courts.

Too late....he sold the 80 copies left over in one hour. eBay is the only place to get one now...for hundreds of dollars!

I received my "paperback". I use that term loosely as it is just as massive a tomb. Honestly, I am quite happy with the paperback version. The main reason to have this is to read it. I took a little time to read a bit more. This book is a gem. I remember getting a few tidbits on one of the decks and the text of the book gave even more insight than I had from an earlier conversation. I am always impressed in the level of details Lorenzo puts into his designs.

Softcover arrived for me as well. I'm still going to read the hardcover version, since softcover will look rugged more easily when opened and closed a lot. I wish there would be a hardcover ed. of the softcover version since I prefer the understated look of it. Not a fan of the metal inlay of the hardcover personally. Great job on both versions regardless. Maybe we'll get a simpler hardcover once the softcover is sold out as well

.
I look forward to 2033/34 for the second edition

. Let's go for another awesome Lorenzo decade

OK...my package for this book has been in pre-shipment mode since July 25th. And now it's the 30th! I don't understand the delay with my copy, and it appears every one else around the US received their copy already. Who can I contact there to help me with this?!

Lorenzo actually personally emailed me back, which was very nice of him considering his busy schedule.
He says he has been having issues with GW lately, and is annoyed as well.

Mine is in the same status.. I wonder if their wonderful freight forwarded (OSM worldwide) has just stopped uploading tracking data to USPS, since "we're not going to even think about putting that on a truck for a week" is their normal speed.

This is like deja vu. Wasn't there a different playing card product that was fulfilled by Gamblers Warehouse recently, where they don't send out a load until the truck is full? That's BS! So some people got their books because it made the first truck, and now the rest of us gotta wait?! It's not Lorenzo's fault, so I'm complaining about GW here.

Again several, enough that I noticed a pattern with anything going out via OSM months ago. It got an initial scan and then went nowhere for a week.
Some shippers adjusted by just not sending a shipped status until the day before it was going to arrive.

Well looks like my theory is wrong or someone insisted on a change, the appearance is that GW just didnt ship it.
My shipment was just given to USPS yesterday, its not in the OSM system (tracking would say if it was)
