Assassins in Venice?

Hehe there you go. I remember him saying that the assassin in Venexiana is a taste of what's to come for the dark version.

You're all very close! The characters will mainly be imaginary figures, presenting aspects of Venice's underbelly. Certainly Assassins, thieves, prostitutes, noblemen. Yes, they too have their share in dirt!

The campaing will be a work in progress. Although I usually don't do it, this time I'll be sharing the creative process with everyone. Preliminary sketches, more finished drawingsand the final pics. It will be fun. I have to get over my tendency to hide all the work done before the final stuff.

But the first pic from the courts you'll see, will be taken from the community here!

The faces of all the courts will be from the 'underside' of Venice - real and imagined. I don't remember where I saw Lotrek state it, but he has already said that the faces are going to be new - along with everything else. Just in case you didn't get a good look at the back (and it's subject to change, just like anything else), it's a very elegant and almost floral design.

There's an oblique (off angle) view of it that he posted with the AoS work in progress on the previous page.

Yes, everything will be new, with the exception maybe of the AoC, AoD, AoH. I really like them and they can serve as a connection between the two versions of Venexiana. But again, I may change these too.

I think he means the court is inspired by the community, not anyone in specific. I don't think he'll be offering any "your face on a card" tiers this time around.

As Eoghan said, the JoS is not a particular person. It's just a court inspired by the community. In Venice there is a Casino from the 18th century which was famous at the time. Don't know if they used Bee stock decks though...

I kinda prefer the first one with the devious eyes, the mask makes him look too innocent.
Also I'd like to point out that his pinky and ring finger are greener than the rest of his hand. Or is that my monitor?

Also I agree if it is an "either Or" I prefer the one with out the mask . The nose of the mask looks a little small to contain his nose so completely.

Looks like another winner! I'm glad to see this court card give homage to our Cardistry roots here at UC, thank you for that. I'd like to see one of the Queens holding a fan...of playing cards.

Beeh! At the time decks didn't fan well.

But seriously, this will not be the only card related court and your idea is very good. I may use it. As I said, this will be a work-in-progress project. Although I already know all the courts, there are 1-2 that can change if a great idea falls on the table.
