Why not use AI for this, I guess, but not for me
KoD - my initials, no wonder I grew up a lover of playing cards

The “just the aces” images and somehow managing to take all the charm out of the fluffiest of bunnies - abomination before all things holy

Well, at least they’re completely transparent and up front about the use of AI. Still a hard pass from me, but I can respect the honesty.

Re: The Angora Royalty Deck by Tammy Vaughn
Obvious AI, but I am glad the creator discloses the use of it. This campaign layout is very lacking and full of red flags, especially for a first-time creator:
- Zero indication of who will be handling printing
- The FAQ section states that shipping will be disclosed in the tier descriptions. As of right now, they are charging no shipping. Is this a good deal or a mistake on their end? I can foresee the future appeal for more funds to cover the shipping they did not collect.
- Just one group render of the tuck, card back, and Aces. Where is the effort?
- Gilding is not stated in the campaign. According to the only image, the deck is apparently gilded. Is this a good deal or is it intended as a stretch goal and they forgot to mention it?
I am a picky collector these days, so the points mentioned above are just my opinion, though I hope others would share the same concerns. First time creators need to put in obvious effort and this campaign is not a great example of any. How about some images of prototypes or images of the court cards & number cards?
Side note: I do love when producers respond to the AI question with "yes, I have permission to use all the graphics." It just kills me every time.
On a final note about effort: if you are going to use just one render, try not to make the tuckbox square or have two different sizes of playing cards or have what seems to be a tarot deck when you show off the back design.

"But why male models?"
