Aurum Deus features intricate foiling using the latest cold-foil technology that delivers incredible detail and even borderless foil, combined with detailed metallic purple inks that echo the original deck. The hand-drawn line work remains from the first deck, but is layered against an incredible new golden medallion that brings together Venetian elements of Carnival, Murano glasswork, lace and the city’s Moorish influences. The combination of foil and metallic inks creates a shimmer and visual richness unmatched in playing cards today.

Amazing. I wish things didn't go down the way they did and Paul were still here
Fun fact, the first KS I ever backed was Tendril back in 2012. $9, shipped for a fully custom USPCC deck back then Let's see how much this puppy is, although I will probably buy it regardless.

I'm probably in the minority here but man I hate EPCC. All their decks feel like plastic trash with awful handling. I wish people would stop printing with them. Every time I get excited about a design and want to buy a few, then see it's EPCC printed, it's like ughhh.
Looking to buy (DM me if selling please!):
-Limbo v1 decks: Escape, Ennui, Cage
-2018 NPCCD: Green Pawn & Missing Island Prototypes

I have the same issue. I don't think EPCC are all that bad, but the handling difference between them and USPCC or Cartamundi is significant to the point where I would rather choose poor registration. And I hate to have to make that choice, because USPCC should know better.
Without meaning to be condescending but may I ask how many EPCC decks you've handled?
I get that feel is subjective and all but EPCC has used different stock and finishes that at least to me feel very different so a generalization makes kinda no sense.
Most of the decks that e.g. KWP did with Experts are far from plastic trash and far from bad handling.
Six Foot Five from KWP for example is so close to USPC feel and identical in handling that, I would bet money on 95% of card handlers would fail to identify it as an EPCC deck in a blind fold test and 4% would only be able to tell the difference because it smells a bit different. The one percent left are card savants that really feel the difference .

I've owned probably 75+ different EPCC decks from various designers with various finishes over the years. USPCC decks have a softer cushier feel. EPCC decks feel like they're not made of paper to me.

Yah, the majority is on the stiffer side and things like their diamond finish is nasty to me as well. It's great to train hand strength though . I just kinda hanged myself on the all of their decks.

Have you tried the Stud Finish used on Spud V1, Chosen, and Skull and Bones (Stud Finish sample)? Those are ridiculously soft and roughed surface, great for handling, made to recreate the touch of the old USPCC Studs. For mysterious reasons, Expert is just reluctant to use more of this finish on their decks or to popularize the finish.
I highly suspect that NDO's School of Cardistry V5 and Jaspas Eggplant are using the same finish, but Jaspas always keep the printing mysterious for his decks. So no way to be sure, but they feel extremely similar to EPCC's Stud Finish.

Well, unfortunately at the moment the only manufacturer that is open for business is EPCC.

I stand corrected. I forgot about this deck and yes it does feel like uspcc stock
Although in my defense, the majority of their decks that I've had feel more like the JN finish than the stud finish which sucks imo

I admit Expert's most common Classic Finish is like dumbbells for fingers, but Expert's flagship finish is the Damask Finish on the Royal Zen and Superior Brand Reader Deck. You just have to know how to choose your decks.

The issue for me is I choose my decks based on the designer like Jackson or Lorenzo or others I like. So I'm not picking decks based on their stock or finish always. Mostly I'm picking based on what the deck looks like, not who printed it. Anyway, like I said, probably in the minority here with EPCC stock as it doesn't seem to bother people much but it is what it is

The latest release from Encarded, Aurum Deus, will be available for pre-order this Friday, September 11 at 12pm EST. This limited edition will have just 1000 hand-numbered and sealed decks available and like all Encarded decks won't be reprinted.
Don't miss out on what will certainly become a treasured part of your playing card collection. Visit the encarded.com store on Friday when this pre-order item will become available in the Playing Card section of the store.
Aurum Deus is expected to finish printing in about 2-3 weeks and orders will be shipped as soon as possible after they have been sealed and hand-numbered.
Ah, THIS is the real “spiritual successor to Aurum”
Am I the only one who is just willing this guy to do something truly new and original again and not what looks like just rehashing his own back catalogue? I get it from a business perspective, looking at the perplexing amount decks like Aurum and Zenith go for on the wacky world of EBay, but come on.

That is unfortunate. Also it's printed by EPCC and not USPCC like the original, which makes this a hard pass for me. I hate EPCC quality.

This "EPCC = bad quality" mantra starts to be a bit annoying to be honest and also can be misleading for newcomers who could think that EPCC prints on recycled card boxes. I opened KWP's "General Admission" deck just recently and its handling is awesome!

I didn't say epcc = bad quality anywhere. I said I hate the quality. It feels like plastic to me. General admission feels like plastic to me too. I hate it. Others may like it

For those who're interested - you've missed out. If you made a name once, it's too easy to sell decks nowadays.
Agreed that it is a good alternative to the aftermarket though.
